VI Session of the Council for Development of the Polog Planning Region

On Thursday, 27th of September 2018, at 10:30 am, in the small conference room at hotel MERCURE, Tetovo, the sixth Session of the Council for Development of the PPR was held.

At this Session, the signing of the Decision for the establishment of the Network for Resistant and Protected Polog, as well as the Agreement for unification of financial means for the project Improving Resilence to Floods in the Polog Region, was initiated. Also, the Mayors of the Municipalities of the region have adopted the proposal of the Head of the Center for Development of the Polog Planning Region (CDPPR) for starting a procedure for registration of the Business Center for support and consultative services for small and medium enterprises in the Polog Region, as a separate legal entity.

Presentation of the work report of 2018 and proposal of the 2019 budget

Mayor of the Municipality of Bogovinje, Albon Xhemaili had a a meeting with the citizens, during which he presented the one-year working report since the beginning of his mandate. From this report the citizens were informed about all the improvements of the road infrastructure, the interventions in the school facilities and the sports grounds of the settlements, the opening of the streets, the horizontal signaling of the streets and putting signs at the entrance and exit of each settlement, as well as citizens were also announced for the repayment of a large part of the municipal debts from previous years.
The 2019 budget proposal was presented by Besir Miftari, a precise presentation regarding the expectations of the Municipality of Bogovinje from this budget proposal, which includes some of the most important points: repayment of short-term debt, improvement of the conditions of administrative facilities, enterprise aid “Sharri” for financial stability, regulation of drinking water systems, construction of Çiflik – Kallnik road, reconstruction of other local roads and drafting of technical documentation.
Finally, citizens put forward some assumptions regarding the 2019 budget, which the mayor appreciated and said he would realize at the first opportunity to be given and thanked all the participants for their presence.

Second informative event of the Business Center of Polog planning region

Within the project for establishment of the Business Center for support and consultative services for small and medium enterprises in the Polog planning region, on 26th of May 2015, in the Municipality of Tearce, was held the second informative event, which had the following working title: Program for support of the entrepreneurship, competitiveness and innovation of small and medium enterprises in 2015.
At this event, Mr. Ljubisha Nikolovski, Head of Department in the Agency for Support of the Entrepreneurship of Republic of Macedonia, presented the Program for support of the entrepreneurship, competitiveness and innovation of small and medium enterprises for 2015. Likewise, the representatives of Ohridska Banka presented their credits that offer an opportunity to support projects that provide energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
After the presentation, in a form of a business lunch, B2G meetings between the interested representatives from the private sector and the representatives of ASERM and Ohridska Banka were realized.
The event was attended by representatives of small and medium enterprises from the Polog region, representatives of LED offices from the Municipalities in the Polog region and unemployed persons.
These informative events aim to increase the competitiveness of Polog planning region by providing support to SMEs from this region and their incorporation with the institutions for better access to services for improving their capacities.

First informative event of the Business Center of Polog planning region

Within the project for establishment of the Business Center for support and consultative services for small and medium enterprises in the Polog planning region, on 30th of April 2015, in the Municipality of Tetovo, was held the first informative event, which had the following working title: Introduction to “Preparation of a Regional Programme and Action Plan and a Communication Strategy for Development and Support of the PPR Private Sector”.
At this event, the representatives from DKAUT “ESA-TE” presented something more about the methodology of work, in preparing the Regional Programme and Action Plan and the Communication Strategy, and about the benefits of all target groups from the preparation of the both above mentioned documents.

Informative event of the Business Centre of the Polog Planning Region

Within the project for expansion of the services of the Business Center for support and consultative services for small and medium enterprises in the Polog region, the Ministry of Local Self-Government with financial support from the German Agency for Development and Cooperation GIZ (LEIWW +) will finance the implementation of several activities including the organization of informative events in the field of innovation and technology development for the representatives of the business sector in the PPR.
In cooperation with the Technology Park within the South East European University, Tetovo, on 30th of June 2016, at South East European University, Tetovo, was held the second informative event with a working title: “Co-financing grants for newly established enterprises start-up and spin-off”.

The presenters were Nikola Klopcevski and Jasna Petrovska from the Fund for Innovations and Technology Development. The event was a kind of exchange of experiences and an opportunity to learn many useful things for the third OPEN CALL of the Fund for Innovations and Technology Development, for the allocation of funds under the Instrument for support – Co-financing grants for newly established enterprises start-up and spin-off.

The event was attended by representatives of the newly established enterprises, small and medium enterprises from the Polog region, representatives of LED offices from the municipalities in the Polog region and representatives from the Economic Chamber of North West Macedonia.

Third informative event of the Business Center of Polog planning region

Within the project for establishment of the Business Center for support and consultative services for small and medium enterprises in the Polog planning region, on 30th of May 2015, in Palma Mall Tetovo, was held the third informative event, which had the following working title: Financing models and concepts of innovation – tools for strengthening the cooperation and the investments between the business communities.
This event was attended by representatives of the Turkish business community, the Mayor of the Municipality of Tetovo, representatives of TIDZ Tetovo, EMKICE, Chambers of Commerce, representatives of LED offices from the Municipalities in the Polog region, representatives of small and medium enterprises from the Polog region and representatives of SEEU Tech Park.
Firstly, the Center for development of Polog planning region represented by the Head Fatmir Saiti and Baybars Altuntash, President of TBAA (Business Angels Association – Turkey) signed a Memorandum for co-operation. Afterwards, NORMAK gave a short presentation in TIDZ Tetovo. At the end, at restaurant Emporium in Palma Mall, B2B and B2G meetings were realized, between the Turkish business community and all the interested representatives from the public and private sector from the Polog planning region.
These informative events aim to increase the competitiveness of Polog planning region by providing support to SMEs from this region and their incorporation with the institutions for better access to services for improving their capacities.
